Weighing in on Soulja Boy

Aight. The problem with soulja boy and all these dudes that make that kinda shit is that their shit is NOT HIP HOP MUSIC! It’s house music. Same format and u make up dances to it. They don’t even rap they just repeat phrases. That’s house music with a live voice instead of a sample. There’s nothin wrong wit that, it just ain’t hip hop. It’s not a matter of it being wack because they don’t rap or break, they juke and chant – that’s classic 90s HOUSE MUSIC!!!!! So there really is no debate. Corporations told you it was hip hop and u believed em. Soulja boy even believed em. He ain’t even Wack, his music is miscategorized. For him to buy into his own hype and believe himself that he is doin hiphop is his only crime. Souljadude, u are not a rapper. You don’t do hip hop. You are a house artist. Period. The next generation of rappers actually rap. At least Hammer had verses. House music is a string of hooks over danceable tracks. Sound familiar?

Planet B-Boy

 Yo… this movie looks ill as hell!! “Planet B-Boy” about breakers worldwide. Its playin at the independant theater in Santa Monica, I gotta go see it this week. The scene where they are breakin and the mountain range is in the backdrop…classic. For that alone, I’d pay 10 to get in…   I’ll let you know when I see it if it was as raw as it looks:
